In Year 5, this summer term, we will be moving onto our Create Project and focusing on Art via our Big Question ‘How does Art impact the environment?’. This enquiry will focus on exploring installation art in detail, experimenting with techniques and exploring a range of artists. We will then move into the world of architecture and sculpture.
In music, Year 5 will explore the big question through our exciting Battle of the Bands unit. Children will work together to create and perform their own music, thinking about how music connects us to the world around us and how it can inspire us to care for our environment.
The children will also take part in Now Hear This! World Cup Fever with the Hallé Orchestra at the Royal Concert Hall, Nottingham on Friday 12 June. Children will play and sing alongside a world-class orchestra - and will be learning a ukulele part in the coming weeks to perform on the day.
