This term we will be focusing on history with our discover project. We have two 'Big Questions', the first of which is:

What is 'Once upon a time'?

We will start by exploring the passing of time, units of time and timelines. We then learn about toys; exploring how they have changed over time and creating our own toy museum! We have planned to have a workshop in school - with an expert visitor from a museum. More details will be sent out in a letter shortly.

Throughout we will listen to, and appraise music from the 1950s through to the modern day.

After half term, our 'Big Question' will be:

What would it be like to discover something or somewhere new?

Focusing on significant people and their impact on history, we will learn about the different ways that people have tried to fly. We will learn about the Wright brothers and Amelia Earhart, and space travel including the first man and first woman in space. We finish the term by looking at changes over time in our local environments of Ravenshead and Abbey Gates.
