Year 2
Welcome to Year 2 with Mr Price, Mrs Goss and Mrs O'Dea !
Being in Upper KS1 is an exciting and important time as the children are the oldest in the infants and so have a responsibility to show the younger children how to behave and enjoy school life. Following on from Year 1, we use a very creative and fun curriculum to help the children develop and improve their skills in all areas of learning. Learning to 'have a go' and trying our best is crucial to Year 2 and we explore ways to improve our confidence and self-esteem, to make ourselves the best learners that we can be (whilst having lots of fun along the way!). Keep an eye on this page to see what exciting activities we have been getting up to!
In Autumn 1, looked into the Big Question: WHERE CAN ‘ONE PICTURE’ TAKE ME AND MY IMAGINATION? This was our Create Term, where we will be focussing on our artistic skills, learning about all kinds of different art and creating our own masterpieces.
In the Spring term, our learning focused on the questions: 'Should we be forgiven for the mistakes we make?' and 'Do things ever stay the same?'
This term we will be exploring the question: 'What does it mean to belong?' and this will form the heart of our Geography based EXPLORE project.
Reading is vital to every thing we ever want to do and with that in mind, the best homework is reading as often as you can, whether it be exciting adventure books, information about things we are interested in or just reading labels around our environment.
Our PE days are Monday and Friday.
We can't wait to show you what we are all capable of!
